Post Installation of SQL Server 2008

We can test the installation of SQL Server by using the configuration manager. The configuration manager will display the SQL Server services of all the instances currently those are running on this machine.

The following screenshot shows how to open configuration manager and know the status of SQL Services.

Goto Start button, expand the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 from Programs list, expand the Configuration Tools, now click on the SQL Server Configuration Manager.



Now the SQL Services are displayed as shown below. The highlighted green color play button indicating as that the service is currently in running state.

The highlighted red color stop button indicating as that the service is not running and unavailable to provide the services.



You can start any service by right clicking on it, and then choose the Start option from the shortcut menu as shown below.



We can change the starting mode of any service as shown below.
